I started making my first drum n bass mix for fun and this is what came out.
Any
comments and suggestions are welcome as this is my first mix EVER and I
wanna get better. :) I could work on it forever, but first I wanna hear
if I'm getting anywhere with it at all...
If you like it, share it. :)
The second part is mixed better than the first... :)

NOTE: It gets better/more proper after a few songs... :)
Sade cannot be redone. Fact. But she can be remixed. And a while ago I've come across this pure drum and bass remix by LSB. It gives the song a new dimension. And as much as I love the original, I love the remix too. It breaks hearts the same way, just with a faster pace.
At the bottom I added a remake of the song by Stranjah, another drum and bass tune. I'll leave it up to you to decide...
This must be one of my top three remixes of all times. Disclosure did an amazing job. I got to listen to the guys live at Terraneo festival in Šibenik last week. Unfortunately I missed this song. But they sure know how to make you move. Good stuff!
I love the sound of jazz in electronic music. Two of my favourite music styles joined into one. I present to you two great artists of this kind:
"Mathias Stubø (aka Proviant Audio) is 20 years old (born 1992) and produces warm
electro-acoustic music heavily influenced by 70's funk, disco and soul.
Both of his parents are freelance jazz musicians, and Stubø spent his childhood digging out to jazz and fusion:
Weather Report, Chick Corea, Mahavishnu Orchestra and so on.
Stubø received his first drum kit at his third birthday, after having showed a great interest in rhythm.
While also playing a bunch of other instruments, the drums still remains his main one.
He took violin lessons at 6 and at the age of 9, he learned to use his fathers old ATARI computer.
Three years later his first tracks was broadcasted on national radio.
At 14, Stubø won an ‘Artist of the Week’ award on Norway’s national
radio network, NRK P3 (as the youngest ever).
In 2009 he won it again (still as the youngest). In 2010 the self same
station has him nominated for ‘Artist of the Year’ and he has been
building a solid reputation for his live performances backed by a full
band of up to 12 members on horns, guitars, drums, percussions and more.
Stubø and his liveband have played at all the greatest Norwegian music
festivals: Øya, Hove, by:Larm, Slottsfjell, Kongsberg Jazzfest and more." Source: BBE
He has a lot of material out, which can be a little hard to find, but it's worth the search once you've heard it!
WHAT I SEE IN YOU
SOON A BRIGHTER DAY
"Berry Weight is a soulful electro-organic-space-jazz duo, harmonizing
storybook-like melodies and cinematic atmospheres. Sounds are brought to
you by instrumentalists/producers/DJs : Apewok & Stab from Canada
and Switzerland, occasionally to be accompanied by Danish singer-Astrid
Engberg and French clarinetist-Kledsy Jy. They’re taking matters into
their own hands in the wake of the supernova-like disintegration
transition of the music industry as we know it." Source: Official Website
When I first heard this lady, I knew she would be big one day. That is yet to follow.
She has collaborated with many post-dubstep/electronic artists, one of them being SBTRKT. It's good. In fact it's freaking awesome. She decided to take it in her own hands and started releasing her own material. I can't wait for more.
Take a listen to lovely Jessie Ware!
I have been neglecting my blog recently. But I'm guessing I hadn't come across anything mind blowing. (That's a lie.) This month I discovered an amazing drum'n'bass producer with the greatest sense for melody.
This young and incredibly talented 18 year old producer from the UK works under name FEINT. Please take a listen.
